Duffle bag

MADE out of house of happy Rebels festival BANNERS

Did you know that this entire duffle bag is made from sustainable materials? It's made from repurposed House of Happy Rebels 2022 festival banners and is lined with material made from 100% recycled PET. With our Upcycle Lab, we transform old and unusable materials into something valuable again and often even more beautiful than before. 


The banners were produced for a great but temporarily purpose and normally disposed and burned. Such a waste! By turning them into bags, the colourful material now gets a new function with higher sustainability. Every bag is unique.

MAKING A SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

Why upcycling?

When producing upcycle products such as this duffle bag, inclusive working, CO2 savings and waste reduction are key factors. 


With upcycling, not only the raw material is repurposed, but the entire product. This prevents valuable parts from ending up in the trash and gives the "old" material even more value. As a result, fewer materials need to be purchased, fewer raw materials are used and thus less CO₂ is emitted. This makes upcycling one of the most sustainable solutions for waste material.


Another important goal in the production is (work) pleasure and giving others the space and opportunity to participate in society. We do this in our own social and local workshop: Makers Lokaal. Through this approach, we connect passionate and skilled people to our company and work on opportunities and personal development for our makers.

THE BENEFITS OF UPCYCLING

The result of one upcycled House of Happy Rebels festival banner duffle bag is as follows:

- 2.81 KG of CO2 avoided

- 20.8 liters of water saved

- 1.5 hours of social impact realized


The tags used are made of recycled PET and organic cotton. The hang tag is made of 100% tree-free paper made from waste materials such as straw and grass.
